PVC Panel Delivery Checklist: Before Cutting or Fitting

Before cutting or fitting PVC wall panels, match the delivery to your order, count the individual pieces and check each piece for visible concerns. Keep a short record of anything that is missing, different or unclear, then ask the supplier to resolve it before you alter the affected material. A delivery arriving at your address is one milestone; having the correct, checked materials ready for the installer is another.

This checklist is for checking a decorative PVC panel order. It does not establish whether a panel is suitable for a shower, a particular wall or a proposed fixing method. Those decisions need the instructions for the exact product.

Start with the order confirmation, not the number of parcels

Find the product name, selected finish, quantity and selling unit on your confirmation. “Two packs”, “two panels” and “two parcels” describe different things. Transport packaging may combine or split the contents of a selling pack, so counting wrapped bundles alone cannot settle whether the order is complete.

The current PPC PVC range lists packs containing eight panels, with individual dimensions of 240 × 30 cm. Check the particular product you ordered and your confirmation rather than applying that format to acoustic wood panels or marble-effect sheets. For example, the Walnut PVC pack is a different product from a Walnut acoustic wood panel.

Write down any separately ordered accessories as their own lines. Do not assume that trims, fixings or adhesive are included because they appear in an inspiration photograph.

A receipt-check table you can copy

Complete these checks separately for each order line. Keep separate records when different finishes or products arrive together. “Not checked yet” is a useful answer: it keeps an unopened bundle from being mistaken for a completed inspection.

Check each piece without changing it

Follow the supplied handling instructions and arrange suitable help for moving long panels. As the material is unpacked safely, compare its labels with your order and look over the face, ends, edges and any joining profile. Record visible marks, cracks, crushed corners or differences that you cannot explain. A tidy outer wrapper does not tell you what every piece inside looks like.

For appearance checks, view the pieces under the same light and in the intended orientation. A shadow across one panel can make a comparison confusing. If a difference remains, photograph the pieces together and ask whether it is expected for that finish. Do not assume that an unfamiliar code proves a mismatch, or that a matching code removes the need to inspect.

Leave an uncertain piece uncut and unfixed while you seek advice. Do not sand a mark, force a joint, apply a cleaner or remove a covering simply to see whether a concern disappears; first check the instructions or ask the supplier what is appropriate.

The principle of checking before fitting also appears in Dumaplast’s Dumawall XL instructions, which call for an inspection of individual panels. That document applies to Dumawall XL: its preparation conditions, installation method and warranty terms are not specifications for PPC’s PVC range.

Worked example: two packs, three different counts

Hypothetical example — this is a checking exercise, not a customer delivery or a wall-coverage calculation.

Your confirmation shows two packs of an eight-piece PVC product. The expected quantity is 2 × 8 = 16 pieces. You count sixteen pieces on arrival. One has a visibly damaged end and another has a label you cannot match to the order.

  • Expected: 16 pieces.
  • Received and counted: 16 pieces.
  • Needing clarification: 2 pieces, for different reasons.

The report is therefore “all sixteen arrived, with two items to review”, rather than “two panels missing”. Record the damaged piece and the identity query separately. This helps the supplier investigate the actual problem instead of starting with a disputed quantity.

Neither sixteen received pieces nor fourteen with no visible concern proves that the wall can be completed. The layout, cuts, effective fitted width and approved installation details are separate checks. Do not cut around a damaged end on the assumption that the remainder will be enough.

Send an issue report that identifies the affected material

Keep the order reference and packaging labels available. Take an overall photograph showing which item is involved, a close-up of the concern and a clear label photograph where one exists. Number the photographs in your message so that “piece 2” means the same thing to you and the supplier. Avoid including unrelated paperwork or people in the pictures.

You can adapt this message:

Order reference: …
Delivered on: …
Product and finish ordered: …
Expected: … packs / … individual pieces.
Counted: … pieces; … packages remain unopened.
Concern: photo 1 shows …; photo 2 shows …
The affected material has not been cut or fitted.
Please confirm what I should do next and whether this affects the rest of the installation.

Contact PPC promptly through the details on your confirmation or the website’s WhatsApp link. Refer to the current delivery information and returns information for the applicable process. This practical checklist does not create a new reporting deadline or replace those policies. Do not use another retailer’s deadline for your PPC order.

Give the installer the checked record

Pass on the confirmation, the completed table and any supplier reply. If an issue is unresolved, make that visible before the installer starts. “Delivery complete” should not be used as shorthand for “every specification and condition check passed”.

If you are still agreeing who will receive and inspect the material, the PVC installation quote checklist helps put that responsibility into the scope. Keep the receipt record with the project paperwork; it gives everyone the same starting point for the work.
